Why state licensing matters
Telehealth providers must be licensed in the state where the patient is located at the time of the visit. This is why some telehealth services are available in some states but not others — it's not a technology limitation, it's a regulatory one. Each state licenses providers separately. Some states participate in licensure compacts (like the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, IMLC) that streamline multi-state licensure, but the individual state license is still required.
Interstate compact participation
Our medical director participates in the IMLC, which allows expedited licensure in the ~40 states that participate. We are actively expanding our licensed footprint. If your state is not yet available, you can join our waitlist via the consult form.
